The sushi was good but not great… The staff was semi-attentive and the restaurant overall was very clean… I would go back but temper my expectations on the sushi… Again, good but not great.
Everything tasted old and had an odd aftertase. The portions were tiny and the presentation was boring
Being that every other sushi place in Modesto blows, sushi garden is hands down the best. Service is friendly, restaurant is clean, chefs are fun to talk to and whatch if you sit at the bar. The place is kind if small so if you go at a busy time ( almost everytime I’ve been) than expect to wait a bit. If sushi isn’t your thing, they have other dishes that are delicious… Really delicious actually. I really don’t have anything bad to say say about sushi garden because they consistently do things right. If I may make a recommendation try their Modesto roll. It’s one of the best rolls I’ve had- although it is very Americanized.their chirashi lunch special is probably they beat way to go I’d your there during lunch hours. Sushi is generally expensive, but the praises here are actually extremely reasonable, so you will leave with a full stomach and not a whole lot of damage done to your wallet. If your looking for sushi in Modesto, look no further than Sushi Garden.

Not a quiet dinner. The food is excellent but the customers tend to get a little out of control if drinking is involved and no one really speaks enough english to mellow them out. TAKE IT HOME AND ENJOY IT!
