Slightly overpriced. Good ambience, but over crowded. Limited options for vegetarians. But I belt be the steak is great here. Seems appropriate for a formal affair rather than a casual outing.

Service was slow. Didnt like the ambiance much, tables were all crowded too close together. The food was really good though! I had the Cider Brined Porkchop – it was well cooked and absolutely delicious, made up for the other shortcomings of the restaurant

The food was so, so. I went with a group of 10 and they wanted to give us one check. Come on, I’m in Silicon Valley and you can’t break up the bill. Is it a software problem? Really! The food was fancily dressed, but was not that great. I most likely would not try it again.

So, So, So Very Slow BUT SO, SO DELICIOUS!. My husband and I have eaten at Scratch 3 times, and each time, we have spent 2 hours there NO MATTER WHAT WE ORDER. The first time, we went with my husband’s boss and wife. We ordered drinks while waiting for a table. The bartenders are fantastic and create anything you request, which is fun. We then were seated and ordered appetizers. Then we ordered wine, entrees, and received wine. One app arrived WITH AN ENTREE. What is completely mind-boggling about this place is that Scratch employs a lot of people…but you can never seem to get a hold of your server. You can see about twenty different people working in the restaurant at any given time…..but there only seem to be about 4 servers working. How is this possible? Now to the good part…the food is delicious! Pork belly is always good, as are the fresh oysters and fish entrees. The fried chicken is also delicious. But, man….how is it possible that my husband and I go back, immediately order entrees, and two tables with double the people leave before us? Hire servers that have the experience to work in a restaurant that is as highly priced as Scratch and I guarantee people will come more and gripe less. The second time we came, the server offered us bread….and brought it about 5 minutes before the dessert menu! Come on! Next time, I’ll order the pork belly app, dessert, and go home…..I’d come a hell of a lot more if I didn’t have to plan for a 2 hour meal…especially since we eat out biweekly and live 3 blocks away.

Flavorless Food. Lovely restaurant, wonderful service – unfortunately very mediocre food. The most flavorful dishes were the strogonoff and the butterscotch pudding. The filet mignon was tasteless, the pork chop, had it not been for the delightful topping, was tasteless. And I don’t really know why. Could cooking time make a difference? $15 corkage fee. Cheese plate appetizer was extremely small – cuts of cheese really should have been larger. Chorizo dates were good. So it seems that the mains were the really flavorless items. I don’t get it…..???

Short pour on a $12 martini …. … and the maitre d argued with me about it. Not a good start, especially with so many dinning opportunities literally across the street … which is where I headed.

10$ margaritas should not have brown-edged lime wedges. Spinach salad was very nice and pork chop was good although I wish I had asked for an entre with more veges. Service was odd (shouldn’t a waiter after describing the menu and specials ask you what you want to drink?)
