This place serves some good mexican food and margaritas. If you are in mountain view, then you should stop by one to try a margarita. They have a huge variety of cocktails and they are really good.Once you arrive at this place, you will be seated and they will serve you chips and salsa. A unique thing about this place is that they will serve you 3 salsas so you will have a lot of variety.Their vegetarian food is ok. I have heard that their chicken and seafood is good. Haven’t tried their non-veg food myself but have heard it from people, who have high standards from any kind of food ;)Their ambience is good and service is quick. They have an open bar so you can have drinks and chips at the bar itself instead of formal dining.

Food is OK, but the mole is over rated. Quire a few people I work with really enjoy this place and find reasons to go there time after time. They claim it is the mole sauce that does it for them- I never really understood why. Mole sauce is supposed to be an expression of the chef, a reason to explore. No two should be the same, so I am not comparing it to the excellent sauces I have had in the past (namely Red Iguana in Salt Lake). But these are bland, greasy, and generally uninspiring. The food that they slop it over isn’t much better. So I continue to go there to be social, each time wondering if I will have that one dish that surprises me, Yet each time I end up covering my food in salsa, scooping the better parts of my dinner up with chips, and knowing inside that there is much better Mexican out there.

Nothing special. A bit pricey and food is lacking in flavor.

7/10 on 6/20/11monday at 7:00 pm I went to vive sol Mexican in mountain view for the first time. Its tucked behind the vacuum shop. Ambiance is like an el torito. Small but quaint the bar has about 6 seats while the restaurant appears to seat about 75. I sat at the bar and had a house marguertia $10, served in a wine goblet and it was good and I could feel it a little 7/10. Free chips with 3 different spices were good 8/10. I asked for the most popular enchalada with pork $14. I received the al sol with 2 enchiladas and rice and refried beans. First enchalada was in guajillo sauce (an orange colored) and was very good 9/10. The second was in a mole sauce the same color as the refried beans and was spicy (or maybe both were spicy and I just didn’t feel it til the second). Half way through the second enchilada sweat was dripping from my face 6/10. Won’t eat that one again. Sevice was good 8/10. Overall good but I was probably ask for non spicy dishes. Total with 2 margueritas $35 for one person.

The best I’ve ever had…. This is a FANTASTIC mexican restaurant. The margaritas are big and delicious. The salsas supplied with their complementary chips are outstanding (especially the tomatillo). The best part of the menu is the entrees – they seem to be very traditional, family recipes and they taste to be cooked with love. I ordered the Pollo Guajillo and it was OUTSTANDING. My neighbor has the Pollo Mole and he said it is the best he’s ever tasted. The owner was ultra friendly and accommodating of our large group. If I lived in this part of the country I would visit this establishment FREQUENTLY.

Very good. Busy on a Sunday night – good sign. Well-made margaritas started the meal off right. Service was a little slow, but the staff was extremely polite and apologized often for the relatively brief delays. Everyone’s food was very good, exhibiting the right balance of spice and flavor. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.
