So Many Choices — All Good. We changed our reservations from later in the evening to 5:30 after a day canvassing the Napa Valley. We were tired and a still a bit full from a day of wine and charcuterie. When we arrived it was happy hour and we sat down at the bar. The restaurant itself has white tablecloths and is impeccably decorated. This is a really great place for a romantic night out or to get together with a large group. There are large private rooms upstairs as well as different rooms with tables everywhere.Taking a break from wine I had two micro brews with my meal. I tried a third one and it was not my style. I was impressed that Marty the bartender took it back and exchanged it for something I did like and did not charge me. We ate small plates off both the happy hour and main menu. My girlfriend had a perfect mojito. We started with homemade chips and guacamole. For those of us from the mid-west it is so nice to have fresh guach. Also added two of their oysters bingo. Originally they were named after the chef who created them, but when he left they changed it to a more ambiguous title. They are baked with spinach, garlic and topped with parmesan cheese. We only had two ($3.95 each) but we should have gone with a half dozen. A cant miss starter. We moved into the next two dishes which included shishito peppers served like edammame and a lamb meatball dish. The shishito peppers are normally milder but the batch that week was a little hotter than normal, ok but a lot hotter. The flavor on them was really fantastic, unfortunately the heat was too much. They give you like 35 of these things. I think you have to try them, but make sure you ask your server if they are mild that week. With a lower heat level I would have polished off the whole thing. Meatballs were fantastic and were served with an eggplant puree and mint yogurt. Really hit the spot. We finished our lite dinner with a bowl of the soup of the day and an avocado and papaya salad. Both were a nice ending to a really pleasant experience. Marty was a great host, and everyone at the bar was friendly. Kind of strange that at one point there were two other people from Cincinnati like we were who had also stopped by for a bite to eat and drink in the middle of the Napa Valley. The main menu is incredible and the regulars we met come there often because of the high quality of all the choices. Everything is fresh, local sourced and the chef has a real talent for changing things up to keep people coming back for more. Sound clich but trust me this is a great deal even with above average prices.

Mothra Says…Great from Start To Finish. I have been to Cindy Ps restaurants over the years while visiting the valley. Always imaginative menus. One of MY favorites was Go Fish. I miss it. I found it a mix of fish, sushi, an Asian fusion of flavours and spices. Really well done….. However, I must have been in the minority as it closed and she has moved on to other ventures. How many fish restaurants are there in the Napa Valley? Apparently not many as it appears Napa Valley diners tend to shy away from fish restaurants. Not sure why. Onward…., Recently K and I and R & M found ourselves at Cyndis backstreet for the first time and I was really excited. We were seated right away just prior to the restaurant filling up. By 12noon, (no kidding) the restaurant was 34 full. Tim arrived at our table and greeted us. He explained many of the lunch menu items and the specials while opening our Argyle Brut de Blanc sparkling. Yes, we did have questions and Tim handled them well while interjecting what each menu item had as ingredients. Well done. He gave us some time to decide while some fresh sourdough bread arrived. For me it came down to two items on the menu.Tim took our order then departed. We sipped this fine drink while we relaxed at the table, discussed Christmas planning and people watched. Within 15 minutes or so, Tim arrived with my duck burger and fries. K had the same which is unusual, as we rarely choose the same entre. Now, this 12 pound duck burger was on a sesame bun lightly toasted, with shitake mushroom ketchup, a misnomer as there was no ketchup in sight of the burger. This ketchup was actually a shitake mushroom reduction of hoisin sauce, sesame, and assorted items unknown to Moth. In addition, it was topped with arugula for a fantastic crunch. In addition, a small dish of a hot mustard tempered with crme fresh and a dab of honey. This spread onto the bun and was an amazing addition to the hoisin shitake duck burger. This along with a generous amount of thin fries (not steak fries, thank God) and the entire entree served HOT. You know how I love food served HOT. Right out of the kitchen…. Well done. This was a terrific lunch with a menu that is intriguing. We will be back to try something new off the menu. Great menu, great service with Tim, very tasty lunch served HOT, well priced. Mothra Says…3.95 of 5.0Note to Cindy: Open up a Fish restaurant in the Valley and I will be your first diner.

The duck burger is amazing. Finish up with the pineapple upside/down cake. Service very good. Give Cindy’s a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Sat out on the patio on a beautiful day. Prompt and courious service. Menu items seemed a little upscale for what I was expecting, but the quality was top notch.

Off The beaten path…. While tasting at Falle winery, our host recommended us to Cindy’s located off of the main drag, the food was just great/ Started with heirloom tomatoes, and roasted red pepper soup. entrees were prime rib sandwich with carmalised onions and arugula along with grilled cheese of the day and polenta fries. Dessert was a late harvest souv blanc, coffee, and pumkin pie.
