Beautiful food and beautiful views defines this place. You can choose to sit right in centre of a wine yard or inside plush interiors and buzzing ambience. Made with farm fresh ingredients is the hallmark of this place and you can taste that in every bite you take. We got 1. grilled smoked artichoke 4/5 . The artichokes along with the dip they provided was amazing 2. Peach salad – 4.5/5 . Fresh crisp and delicious 3. Gnocchi with fresh flowers and vegetables – 4.5/54. Risotto with fresh flowers and mushroom – 4.5/5Great service . A place I highly recommend to everyone . If in napa I would surely return.
Farmstead should be on everyones list when visiting Napa. Great menu from a simple hamburger to elobrate dishes all in a beautiful setting. Besides having great local wine there is a good beer selection. facebook.com
Stopped in post winery tour for an elegant lunch. Being from Dallas, the beef did not disappoint. Per our waiters suggestion, the beets stole the show. The special of the day was a pot pie. Amazing, and the pastry shell was perfection. Will definitely be back. robynwise.com
One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Great food, nice atmosphere. Good place to take someone you are trying to impress. Will definitely go back.
Was expecting more. We thought the food did not have much flavor. Eat on meatloaf Monday. Meatloaf was dry and overcooked. BBQ sauce on it bland. Cheddar biscuits did not taste of cheddar. Wife had gnocchi. Wasn’t bad. Sauce was not tasty. Service was good. Probably won’t go back. Too bad, wanted to like it.
Mothra Says… 73F and a Bottle of Syrah. On a warm 73f degree afternoon in the Napa Valley; Michael, K and I sat outside of the Farmstead restaurant just off Main street in St. Helena recently. The locals were grumbling about the temperature and the lack of rain. Coming from Portland, I was loving this weather. We had just completed wine tasting and buying from three new to us wineries up the 29 and wanted to sit and relax, have a gnash, and talk at one of Michaels favorite restaurants. While Jacob introduced himself and passed out menus, we decided quite quickly on some items. With a mere $5. corkage fee, I asked Jacob to decant a bottle of Syrah that I had just picked up. This is the life.15 minutes later, our Potted pig, the Carpaccio plate and the side of coleslaw all arrived. Along with a 2010 Syrah from T-Vine Vineyards, this wine went especially well with the two meat hors d Oeuvres. The potted Pig is shredded pork, mixed into pig fat, then slightly chilled enough to coagulate. You then spread it onto warm crostinis along with mustard and a pickled dill slice. Oh my, there is nothing better. Wait, then a sip of this Syrah. Just got better.Onward to the Carpaccio. A lovely plate of thinly sliced Filet Mignon served with arugula, cheese, citrus and toasted almonds. Nice. The crunch of the toasted almonds with the slight citrusy vinaigrette over the very rare filet was amazing. The slaw was creamy and chopped very small. Nice.Only negative: the managers tend to follow the servers around walking by the tables constantly. Do they want us to notice that they are supervising? If I have a problem, I will find a manager…. Trust me.This was a terrific mid afternoon stop for a bottle of Syrah and three hors d’ Oeuvres. Good company outside on a warm Napa Valley December day with a faint aroma of wine in the air. The bill + 20% tip, out the door at 48.00.Mothra says…… 3.50 of 5.0
Phenomenal food. Great service. Beautiful setting conveniently located. Even the ketchup was freshly made and extraordinary. Do not miss this place!
