Went without a rez on a late Saturday night, they had tight but comfy seating. Waiter was nice but was overwhelmed, seemed slightly understaffed. Shishitos were great, seasoned well and nicely blistered. Sushi rice was nicely made, rolls were forgettable. Ribs were unfairly delicious. Drinks are expensive but tasty. Would try again, but not as memorable as I’d hoped.

Morimoto is a good break from your Napa Valley wine tasting. First time I’ve tried uni carbonara, it was the right kind of richness you’d expect from a dish called such.

Never had sushi the Japanese way, or may I say the Morimoto way 🙂 . I was really amazed not only by the flow of flavors and textures but also by the simple presentation.Great restaurant decor and feel and the food is amazing. Truly a great place!

Fun dining experience. Morimoto was an exciting place to see. I love watching Food Network, so I was stoked when my boyfriend and I planned a trip to Napa valley and I realized Morimoto had a restaurant there. The service was promt and the decor was really cool. Sushi was very good (ingredients were fresh and the menu items were creative), and the umi carbonara was out of this world. Only downside was that it was really loud; fun for a group of people, but not a quiet date night.

Best bite: wagyu beef carpaccio. The restaurant is huge inside, and feels open even when packed full of diners. Service was alright, but for the prices, we expected a little more (see below). The wagyu beef carpaccio is one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth, and well worth the $22 price tag. The seafood toban yaki was excellent as well. Attention vegetarians: don’t expect any additional veggie-only items than what is described on the menu. More specifically, the kitchen was unable to put something (simple and quick) together on the fly. Other dining experiences we’ve had at restaurants with similar reputations (and prices) were able to create a simple veggie plate outside of the menu. We’ve only asked for this service when the vegetarian options have been unexpectedly narrow. We weren’t asking for a polished, refined dish, just something basic to accompany the existing options.Overall, a tasty place, despite the limited veggie options.

Just okay. Was extremely excited to eat here, but sadly it ended up being a ‘meh’ experience. For the high cost (which I’m happy to spend if warranted), I expect exceptional, and really I can’t say Morimoto was. Tried four different kinds of rolls, and each, while overall tasty and fresh, did not exceed anything I’ve had in a slightly above average sushi joint. Or even made myself, for that matter. Bill for lunch (2 people)was almost $80 with tax and tip, for that kind of money I am looking for something very special. Decor is beautiful and service very pleasant.

Most amazing dining experience ever. My husband and I both did the tasting menu, which they specialized for me since I don’t eat seafood. You have no idea what you’re going to get, but for 3 hours, they continuously bring out the most beautiful, unique and tasty dishes you’ll ever try. I honestly think its the only way to try his food. Had I ordered off the menu, I likely would have gotten some chicken dish and some gyoza. But instead, I got 8 dishes, including lamb carpachio with wasabi and chive, potato fume chowder, and waygu beef with macadamia nut rice to name a few. Stellar service, great pace, can’t think of a single thing wrong. It’s very, very expensive, but for that experience, in my mind worth it.
