Had been really looking forward to this, Morimoto was going to be the highlight of my trip to SF (foodwise), and it certainly delivered. We had the 9 course tasting menu, each was distinctly different and showcase a different variety of Japanese cuisine. The sushi was definitely one of the best I have ever tasted anywhere. In fact all of the seafood dishes were outstanding. Of the non-seafood, the steam egg was a clear standout, and probably my favourite of the menu. Subtle smokiness infused in the egg which was packed full of flavour. Both meat dishes, the New York beef and Pork Belly were disappointing. The beef looked pink on one side, but was overcooked on the other. The Pork fat was not rendered well, and no crackling! The dessert was a great combination of gelato, creamy tapioca, and coconut. Overall an amazing meal!
