Characters has changed it’s menu. It is still. Casual Sports Bar that services BBQ. Try it again if you have tried it in the past. It is worth a second shot. Food – Good I had the New England Clam Chowder Soup for a starter. Very tasty and I would get it again and again. For my Main Dish I had the BBQ Baby Back Ribs with Rings (Onion Rings). Good portions with leftovers. The Baby Back Ribs were moist with lots of pork on each rib. My husbasnd started out with the Small Ceasar Salad. The dressing was creamy and very tasty. For his main dish he had the Pulled Pork Sliders with fries. They were moist and tasty. Service – Good Would we recommend this resturant – YES Would we return – YES, very soon
1.5 Stars – Characters is one of two restaurants in the Napa Valley Marriott. It is the more casual dining spot of the two. It’s a sports bar with a food menu. It includes appetizers, sandwiches and BBQ. Tonight they had a cream of cauliflower soup that was very astringent. I had to add sugar to make it palatable. For an entre I had the BBQ combination plate with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were mediocre and the brisket and pulls pork were no good. It was all extremely overcooked. I wouldn’t choose to eat here again, but might out of convenience if I was stating here at the Marriott again. But definitely would pass on the BBQ.
