Of the bars and pubs in downtown Monterey, this has the strongest kitchen. The fact that they serve Green Flash in draft at the bar is another plus, at least for me.
Get the Pico De Gallo Potato Skins! And if you ever have the opportunity to be there for St. Party’s Day, their stew & soda bread was amazing! I love the chill atmosphere of this place and there’s always great people-watching to be had.
Just OK. I love pubs and pub food, but this place was just ordinary. The fish and chips were greasy. Service was inattentive even though it was not busy. But the beer-on-tap list is pretty good. Next time I’ll try the Britannia or Crown and Anchor down the street.
Good, slight Irish feel, except when the darn karaoke night comes in. Had a great pork chop with three mustard sauce one time, ordered it the next time I was there and it was very blah. For some, the drinks by the firepit might be good enough, but for me, I want a better, more attentive waitstaff for the dining area.
