Don’t stop, just go in!. Stopped here to sin badly on an ooey-gooey salty chocolate concoction. OMG, it was fun and delicious. Sometimes, you’ve just gotta go for it!

What’s not to like!. Great view and delicious desserts. We love the cookie bottom sundae, which isn’t on the menu, but is awesome. The brownie sundae was also well-received. The free piece of chocolate on the way in is a nice touch too. One sundae is big enough for two people to share.
Ice cream and ocean view. Besides the other location in San Francisco, this ice cream shop is situated in the most picturesque place. You’re able to take your dessert out on the patio overlooking the shops and the restaurants on the pier and the beach below. They have different types of chocolates ranging from dark to white to caramel filled to cherry to hazelnut. The have more than their famous chocolate squares, they also have ice cream sundaes. I remember coming here when I was little, and the experience hasn’t changed.
The ice cream was great. Loved the special dark fudge sauce. Service must have had an off night. Interrupted by staff 3 times for problems while we were ordering. Didn’t seem real organized. Spoons were wet and some dirty, even when I went back to get more. Forgot chocolate square on mine that was in the picture and description. When asked, was told they only put those on when they have them. (Tons were in the store for sale.) Might go back for the ice cream, but watch the service!
Pricey but perfect. Ghirardelli is so delicious, but I think it may be a bit too rich for me. I recently had the Gold Rush Sundae (hot fudge, peanut butter ribbons, vanilla ice cream, whip cream, topped with a peanut butter chocolate square). This was the third time I had this sundae (once here, and once in SF) and all the times before it was excellent, except this time the peanut butter was superfluous! It is truly one of those delicacies that can only be eaten in small amounts in my opinion.The chocolate is good, of course, so go just for that. Sadly, the chocolate fountain is no longer there. Their cookies and brownies look pretty good too. Be prepared to pay $9 AT LEAST for your sundae though. It ain’t cheap!
Root Beer Floats! Sundaes! Banana Splits!. Free greeting chocolate squares! Sweet! A dessert lover’s paradise….They are very cheerful & nice. Do treat yourself.
