Amazing host and wait staff, quick food, and everything I tried (ceviche, jerk pork plate, seafood soup) was beyond expectations. It depressed me a little that I was only going to be there for one night before returning to Canada. It was so tasty.If you’re stopping in Monterey to see the aquarium, make this place your one meal if at all possible.
My friends and I had a girl’s night planned at this restaurant. A few of the girls were running late due to traffic and their husband’s getting home late. I arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and was told I was too early. None of the other girls were there by 6:05 so they reluctantly sat me. Three of the other women showed up maybe 10 minutes later. The management badgered us about our other guests three times telling us that they would move us to another table if they did not show soon. After all of the girls showed about an hour after our reservation time, things were okay. Our waitress was good and the food was decent but over priced. On the receipts, some of the girls wrote notes about the rude management. We were chatting outside when one of the managers approached us about the note. She then proceeded to tell us that she is the owner, we were the rude ones, and since we are military wives she does not want military in her restaurant. Hope this helps you make your decision.
