Excellent sushi chefs and fresh fish. I have eaten sushi all over the world and grew up as a commercial fisherman and shellfish harvester on the east coast. I know fish and i know authentic traditional sushi. KITAYAMA;S ROCKS …….the fish is always fresh and of the highest quality at half the price of most high-end sushi. Yes service in the restaurant can vary at times but for the most part everything is very good!!!! great sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu. i have eaten here for the past 23 years and still love this restaurant.

Great food and Service!. As the title says, can’t get better in the OC in my opinion. Great Sushi, and shabu shabu. Nice private tatami rooms, and the staff is really friendly. I guess it could be seen as a bit expensive, but this never occurred to me as the food has always been great. For Japanese food, one of the best in OC.
Enjoyable. Kitayama is a bit pricy, but not really. The place is very comfortable, they offer attentive service and good food; whatelse you can ask for?The Assorted Sashimi was very fresh, it came with a good combination of fish and sweet shrimp. Teppanyaki included steak, chicken, giant shrimp and scallop, mixed vegatables; they had very good quality and two dishes of sauce were flavorful. All food had very delightful presentation.Kitayama gives you all the reasons to dine-out!!!
Excellent Sushi. Recently I ate at the sushi bar. All of the fish was was of the best quality. While the food is not inexpensive, It was worth the price. I would recommend thissushi bar to anyone who is a fan of first quality beaufully prepared raw fish.
