This was NOT the best BBQ in LA! Our pulled pork sandwich had chunks of brisket, and large pieces of fat in with the pork. Overall the flavor was not good, although the sauce was not bad. The garlic mashed potatoes were a very unappetizing brown color, and were too heavily seasoned with oregano. The meal would have been disappointing at half the price!
I wanted to like it.. After reading previous reviews, as well as hearing my workmates rave about the food, I was disappointed. The pulled pork was cooked well, good consistency, but WAY too much salt. The baby backs were charred and bereft of edible meat, and the bark tasted faintly of lighter fluid. The tri-tip had good flavor and nice bark, but it was very tough. I did like the spicy sauce, and the Mac and cheese was wonderful. The collard greens were also slightly too salty and they put green peppers in them, which is not traditional. The peppers added a bitter flavor that collard greens don’t need. All in all, I was not impressed.
