Best ‘cue I’ve had since the long-passed glory days of Dr Hogly Wogly’s. Try the burnt ends if you really like it smoky. Good beer selection, recently expanded with a bar section next to the dining room. Large-screen TVs have also been added recently, which is not a plus for me, but YMMV.
Everytime I eat here I’m pleased. Small menu but it is all good. Brisket sandwich is a great value and delicious.
KC BBQ MOVED!. They are not closed as the site says above… they simply moved a bit north… In North Hollywood on Magnolia between Tujunga and Cahuena (across from Ralph’s)Same great food, same friendly service… now with a liquor license and air conditioning
SMOKIN’. I visited this off the beaten path BBQ joint last night and it’s location is kinda hidden from view, as it sits back off Magnolia in a small strip mall. The parking is okay, plus there is off street parking too. I might add that they have been here at this new location for three months moving here from another location just a few blocks away. Don’t expect a high class look at this place, but don’t let this fool you. The unfinished look adds to the feel or atmosphere that one would expect for an authentic Kansas City feel. I was greeted by one of the owners who was very helpful in making a decision, as the menu is filled with an assortment of tasty selections. I settled on the BBQ pork sandwich served with those nice large steak fries. The prices I felt might be a bit high and probably not a place you will visit often due to this, but for a once in awhile venture its worth the expense. The food was great and the bathroom were clean. A very friendly place. Don’t let the location stop you from visiting. I will note that the baked beans do have a strong smoky taste to them so be prepared for this. Dinner for two cost us 42.00, including drinks. Overall nice place and good food.
Great all-around barbecue.. I moved from Missouri some 18 years ago and until finding Kansas City BBQ, hadn’t been extremely pleased with the other restaurant offerings…and it’s not just because the other’s weren’t KC style barbeque, as I’m just a fan of good barbeque regardless of cooking styles.The owners at KC BBQ pay great tribute with their recipes to the famous Gates BBQ in KC. The dry rub used on the smoked ribs may be a little strong for some, but once you lather them in a little of the restaurant’s custom BBQ sauce it makes for a perfect blend. My preference is for a briscuit sandwich with a side of beans (which has wonderful chucks of meat in it) and fresh cole slaw. The soft drinks and teas offered are bottomless, as you can go back and get refills to your hearts content.The restaurant itself is simple with a down-home style. There is indoor and outdoor seating (when it’s warm). An old juke box puts out tunes, good casual self-serve dining with a warm attitude from the staff.
Awsome. This is it!!!!!!!!! K.C. BBQ. I phoned in an order for 7 very hungry very picky people. I have been driving by this place since it was rocky’s. I finally dicided to try it. 6 mos. after they opened. Been to all the bbq joints in the valley..I’m not goning anywhere else. The baby back pork ribs are the best anywhere. The brisket did no have a gram of fat!! Rave reviews on the burnt ends.. Best cole slaw anywhere.. BBQ beans awesome.. Defenitly gonna go back, and so are my friends and customers who came and smelled what we were eating… They will be in too!!!!!!!!!!! The staff was awesome they helped me to the car with all I had to go..They also didn’t drop the fries till I showed up! Hot and fresh..
