Fantastic fine casual Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the mussels and the pesto. The table bread is some of the best in SD. The service is friendly and also extremely knowledgeable

Host at the door was very accommodating for our group of 7 with no reservation, love the white and candlelight ambiance, food was delish, not a full bar, waitress didn’t seem happy to be working there 🙁 I wish the portion were a bit bigger because the flavors where awesome! I had the seafood pasta which was delish! garciamemories.com

Beautiful white decor and an excellent choice for date night. The food is on par with other good, albeit pricey Italian restaurants, but nothing stood out as a must-do-again to-die-for eats.

Easy choice. Terrific service, reasonably priced, clever-but-simple menu, hearty portions, delicious. We live three blocks away and would go more often but for our parsimony.

Love this place. This place is a find. Everything I ever eaten there is fantastic, my favorite is the seafood pasta. The decor is very chic. The place is relatively small, so make reservations.

I had read many reviews about Alexanders and couldn’t wait to try it myself. The food was excellent! I had the chicken piccatta and my husband had the chicken marsala, both were delicious and full of flavor. Our waiter Keith was awesome. I was able to sample some wine before i ordered. Everyone was friendly and very attentive. Candles surrounded the restaurant inside and out. A very romantic restaurant for a lovely night out. I can’t wait to go again to try other dishes on the menu. On our way out after dinner the owner Alex stopped to ask how our dinner was and kindly shook both our hands. We left very happy and with our bellys full!!

Fantastic atmosphere, staff and food!. We had passed by this restaurant many times on our way to the dog park. Yesterday, we finally stopped in and were thrilled we did! I was graciously greeted at the door by Natalie (found out later she is the owner’s sister). We wanted some take out, so she gave me a menu and explained that most everything would be ready in about 20 minutes. We ended up sitting at the bar to look over the menu. Over a nice glass of Sarah we contemplated the decision on what to order. Natalie brought out some wonderful homemade garlic bread fresh out of the pizza oven. It was delicious and we found out it is one of their grandmother’s recipes (as are many items on the menu). We finally agreed to get the Green Lip Steamed Mussels, 30th Street Salad and The White Room Pizza. While we were waiting Natalie brought us an order of the Bruschetta. It truly was the best we ever had! The crustinis complimented all of the wonderful flavors of the Bruschetta (secret ingredient of pineapple reduction we found out). While we were waiting we also met Alexander or Alex, the owner. He’s a great guy and has been all over the world perfecting his trade. Natalie regaled us with stories about how the family had been in the restaurant business forever (Mom owns one on Point Loma). Once our order was ready we were on our way. Although we were feeling pretty full from the bread and bruchetta the aromas of what we brought home were too much to resist. The mussels were out of this world good. They will definitely be our regular appetizer from now on when we visit. The salad was fantastic too. Again the secret pineapple reduction in the vinaigrette was so unusual and tastey. Finally, we had to have at least a bite of the pizza. Now I know why it is the most popular on the menu (found out after we ordered)! It was great (and invented by Natalie herself). Although it took us some time to finally discover Alexander’s, I feel that we found a true jewel. It may sound like hyperbole, but this really is a extraordinary place. It’s neat, clean, intimate and friendly. We eat out quite a bit both when we are traveling and when at home and feel this is really one of the best restaurants we found. And no, I’m not being paid to write this 😉 I hope you enjoy as much as we did and find this review helpful. I took a picture of the menu too and included it here.
