Nomad Donuts has us traveling for Donuts | San DiegoHow far would you travel for donuts? Would you quit your day job and be a Nomad looking for the best donuts? If you ever do that, make sure you stop by Nomad Donuts in San Diego on your journey. Although Nomad Donuts just opened a few months ago, their donut flavors and textures make you think that theyve been around for a while. Their donut flavors are always changing, goes with the whole nomad theme, right? When you set foot into this donut shop, youll see stacks of donuts on top of traveling related books waiting for you.Nomad Donuts uses fresh, organic and non-GMO ingredients from their local farmers markets whenever possible. Looking at this menu will most likely make you want to try everything! #decisionsdecisionsThe stacked lineup for us was German Chocolat Cake, Ube Taro Coconut, Green Tea (vegan), Meyer Lemon Merginue, and Banana Peanut Butter ol Fashion. Cameron, one of the owners of Nomad Donuts, caught us taking photos with a close call (these donuts almost fell). #SAVETHEDONUTSNomad Donuts definitely has flavors that are out of this world, they even take suggestions from us donut fanatics here. If you have some crazy flavor ideas, send it to them! Check out their website for more info. donutscookiesandcream.com
This is an EXCELLENT local donut shop with a ton of flavor options. It’s been on my radar after seeing Kristen Mattern’s check-ins, and I finally got to give it a try myself. I immediately wished I had seven or eight stomachs so I could try one of everything. There were so many delicious-lookingoptions. They had a great set-up, where they lined up all their donuts with little flavor placardsnext to them so you could actually SEE what they lookedlike, rather than just ordering blindly. My friend and I split a white-chocolate-mint-jalapeo-passion-fruit yeast donut, and a roasted-apple-cake-brown-butter-sage-toasted-almond donut. Yeah. With that many hyphens, you know they had to be good. The yeast donut was a little on the sweet side for my preferences, but as I’ve stated in other donut reviews, I personally don’t love too-sweet sweets. That’s just me! The roasted apple cake donut was freaking amazing. The sage gave it an unexpected, savory bite that was out-of-this world. If you’re in North Park and want to go where no donut has gone before, stop by this local shop 🙂 thejewskimo.com
