Insanely bad service. I’m sure I must have been there on a night when the owner was not there, because I’ve never been so horribly treated in a restaurant. Our group of 4 came at 6 (after calling and being told there would be no wait) and we told them when we arrived that we had to be somewhere at 8. They put our name on a list and completely ignored us for 1/2 hour, but seated a party of 10 before us. After we asked what was going on they said we could eat in the back patio. What back patio? Why hadn’t they offered this before the kitchen got slammed? When we went to the back to sit down, another person yelled at us for sitting before she told us we could? WTF? We left and went acroos the street and had delicious Thai food at a restaurant that was delighted to have our business. I will never go back here again.

The BEST. Just came from the Ritual. It was one of the best dining experience I’ver had at any price. The catch of the day was FANTASTIC. Stacy and Michael know how to prepare food, serve food, and make the whole experience one that will keep you coming back. I never gush, but tonight was exceptional.

Great local pub and tavern. I cannot recall the last time I walked into a place with a group and had the proprietor inquire if we were going to dine (as versus the reasonable option of just drinking at the bar). They wanted to know so they could keep staff on to make sure we were served quickly. How customer oriented! This is a great local neighborhood place, the kind of places pubs and taverns should be. They have great beers on tap, a cozy pub atmosphere and contemporary gastropub fare that is appeals to a lot of special needs such as gluten free and is also local and organic focused.I had hoped to have steamed mussels with a pint but the mussels allocated for appetizers were gone. So I went with the bouillabaisse where my mussels were the star (done to a separate allocation of them for the main dishes). The broth and the quality of the seafood are the important parts of this dish and they were outstanding. My wife enjoyed here tomato leek soup and I also heard raves about their burger. I hope to have the chance to come here again real soon as I felt very comfortable and welcomed.

Always Great!. I have been to Ritual Tavern about a dozen times this past year. Friendly and knowledgable staff, brill beers and fine food. The pulled pork special is tender and flavorful. Oysters (Thurs) are fresh and succulent with wonderful dipping sauces. Gumbo, burgers, chicken are all excellent! My favoriate way to spend an evening in North Park.

Rarely miss a Thursday here when I’m in town. The cask ale and oysters are almost bulletproof. The oysters are always fresh and the dipping sauces are inspired as they change from week to week. Occasionally a cask ale will tank, but 90% of the time that is the best beer they are pouring. Of the main courses, the Jidori chicken is my favorite. Service is always excellent. Place gets very crowded from 7-9, so I tend to eat there right when they open at 5:30 or slink back around 9. Well worth the trip.

Mussels plus…. Loved the mussels at Ritual. Tasty broth and not on shell unopened. The Arrogant Bastard cheesecake is a must. Still want to try the smoked porter milkshake. Oh, lots of gummy vegan entrees too. Can’t wait to go back and try out more.

Cozy Pub-like Atmosphere. Comfortable pub-like restaurant with fantastic gourmet food and terrific Belgian style beers. The inventive menu changes according to seasonal ingredients and suggests beer/wine pairings. Perfect for a moderate-priced meal.
