4 adults went for dinner. Coming from the zoo, had to go to Rudford’s. 1 got sandwich, enough for lunch next day. 1 got a hung hamburger. Both like it. 2 got the dinner plates.It came with salad, a huge serving and dessert. It was $16.09 a person.What more can you ask for. Keep up the good work!!!
2017/08/13As we continued our San Diego visit, we went to Rudford’s for breakfast. We were promptly seated among all the retro furnishings and nicknacks. They appear to be very proud of the photo of a presidential parade that passed their restaurant many years ago, where JFK wass in a convertible in the foreground, and the restaurant and its name are clearly visible in the background. The photo appears on a poster near the restaurant entrance, as well as on their menus. Retro is good, but some of the furnishings need a bit of TLC, and some ceiling tiles need replacing. Since we are eating three good meals a day, SWMBO chose to go a bit lighter with one of their Hot Off the Griddle Combos, with one Pancake, one Egg, and two pieces of Bacon. Basic breakfast, done well. I chose the Baja Omelette, which had veggies and beans inside, and was topped with melted cheese and ranchero sauce. The hash browns were pretty good; I like them when the potatoes have smaller pieces and more caramelization. Nice way to start the day.

The restaurant is super cute, very retro. Food was good, a little expensive for the quality. The waitresses seemed a little rude at first but were joking around as the night went on. Needed tokens for the bathroom.
Spinach & Cream cheese Omelet. They make ’em great! The breakfast of champions! They even top it off with cheese and slices of avocado. Great job!
We have been going to Rudford’s for years they have some of the best homestyle food in San diego the staff is friendly the atmosphier is great and the price is right plus you can always find coupons on their web site @ rudford’s.com or you can go to sdreader.com and find coupons there as well. Enjoy!
