Great food, great drinks, great vibes! I would definitely go back. I went on a Wednesday night (also my birthday night) so it wasn’t too crowded but still busy and I see this place getting packed on weekends. Apparently Wednesday night is bingo night which was super fun– I would highly recommend going on a Wednesday. Overall, True North was a good birthday decision.
True North is a great place in North Park a bit more corporate than other local spots but they do it well. Great food and creative options, like the tator tots are a hit… They have reasonable prices and drink specials. They host special themed nights like buzzed bingo night etc.. This was the go-to happy hour spot for my last office. Treat yourself to some killer tater tots and reasonably-priced booze when you go! Seriously, those little potato nuggets briefly make world peace seem within reach. It’s a fun, casual place that’s great for after-work drinks M-F.On the weekend it gets a little turnt (sometimes with a cover charge), so don’t expect the same laid-back vibes. Doing it’s part to ruin a great neighborhood. Nothing but a sports bar with Americana decor and more TVs than one should watch. Nothing special about the place except that there is a line around the building at night.
Urban Solace kitchen provides True North with tastey bugers. Buns are grilled and very fresh. Tator tots cooked with crispy outside, yummy potatoe goodness inside. Good prices, fun bar. Cool eclectic crowd but a place my hip Grandma is always welcomed too.
