10th& Wood is a green building that looks plain and some what out do sorts in the middle of a turn key Oakland neighborhood … I got to enjoy this lunch experience with my 95 year old great grandmother… Service started out great with staff and other patterns help my grandmother to a seat while I parked the car … She sat on the inside . it was simple yet the large tree-art work sprawled the wall … I walked up to a window and orders lunch a fried chicken Sandwich with garlic fries and for my great grandmother a house salad with avocado on the side …. ( she can be a picky eater and it’s hard to get her to eat ) … This is more of a self serve concept place get your own silver ware water and food from the window … A concept hear in the berkeley /Oakland area we are use to …. But the owner and staff seen I had my hand full and helped me out …. The food was up and the cook brought out food outside … Even though we were sitting on an Oakland street corner the service and peaceful neighborhood made it a good setting for a summer afternoon lunch … Now for the food …. It was good good enough for me to come back and try a few more things on the menu (breakfast… Mmmm) the chicken sandwich was good the chicken was fried and crispy and the red cabbage and house mayo made the sandwich … I can imagine the fried chicken salad is good as we’ll … The house salad was tasty the vinaigrette was good and had feta and walnuts that came as a standard…. I also got a fish sandwich that was fried to a crisp golden color ….. I would eat everything again ….. And there are more things on the menu I want to eat …. So don’t get put off by the random green house serving great food in the middle of Oakland … If your after a simple lunch or breakfast … You be in for a surprise….
