There are few places I can go and get a cheese burger like I want it. But Barney’s is one of those places. It was fantastic, service was great also ordered the Cobb salad which is huge. If your in SF and you want a great burger this is the place to go they will make it exactly as you like it. Parking can be difficult at times but if your on a motorcycle there is parking for 2 bikes directly accross the street. I throuhgly enjoyed my visit today and I will be back.
The food at this Barney’s is good a little better then the one on Salono ave in Albany. But the service hear is slow ( takes 20 min to get your order ) and we we’re hear on a Thursday afternoon not busy at all like 5 tables of people. And my husband complaint why is there only one bathroom it’s big enough for two ( takes kids to the bathroom with a line is why this is a problem ) but overall this Barney’s is good food is good service lackluster but why better service then Spangers fish grotto
Great Salad, Horrible take out service. 5 out of the last 5 times I’ve ordered a chicken cobb salad to pick up. There is always something missing from the bag. Once they forgot the bacon which really put me over. OFTEN, they forget the fork and I have to eat my salad with my fingers and pray they put napkins in the bag. I hate when I get to the lake to eat my salad and there’s no fork or dressing on the side. So this last time morhers day restaurant was empty called in my order and had to wait they forgot the fries. What’s up with filling the bottom half of the bag with paper to give the appearance of a full bag of fries. I’VE DECIDED NOT TO GOTO Barney’s any longer.

Hickory burger. Hickory Burger (Jack cheese topped with tangy barbecue sauce & crisp bacon)This was a good burger. However, it does not rank at the top with some of the other great Bay Area burgers. It was cooked correctly. The bun was an ok sesame seed bun but there wasn’t anything special about it. The meat was of high quality. The condiments were fresh. They cook their bacon crispy. This is a review of lunch at Barney’s Gourmet Burgers on College St in Oakland.I met my friends and their children. I was a tad late and they had already been seated.The server soon came over and took our order.Soon after, they brought out our shakes. And a little after that, our fries came out.I am not sure why restaurants bring fries out before the burgers. I consider them a side not an appetizer. I like for my fries to still be hot when I am eating my burger. But I guess it did allow me to dip some of the fries in my chocolate shake.It was not that long before everyone’s burger came out. I would pretty much eat one of these every day of the week. This started out as a spoon shake but quickly became a straw shake. I do love it when they serve the shake in the medal cup. The service was friendly. There were no real gaps.The ambiance is clean and functional. I would note that they only have one restroom. For the size of the restaurant, this did not appear to be enough. Waiting in line for a restaurant is acceptable at a bar but not for a full-service restaurant.Overall, this is a good place to grab a burger. They have a nice mix of burgers on the menu. They use quality ingredients. The service is prompt, friendly, and professional. While there are better burgers, there are certainly a lot of burgers that are not as good.
Delicious. My first time at Barney’s tonight and the bacon cheese burger was perfect. I’m definitely coming back to try a baja burger and a shake. Sweet potato fries were great too.
