Great sushi, warm atmosphere, quaint little shop. They even had my favorite IPA, which surprised me. I’m glad I gave this place a chance even after reading the negative review. That person clearly did not know what to order. I will be back.
I was feeling kinda sick and in the mood for miso soup, and ginza is a few blocks away. Realizing that I needed something else to go with the soup, I ordered a vegetable don (rice bowl), which is basically veggies over rice (I wanted someting bland.) There are various rice bowls on the menu, different kinds of meat, some with egg or tempura, but the vegetable don seemed safe. I call ginza and order for myself plus a salmon-sashimi for hubs, who goes to pick up the food. After dropping $40 for dinner, hubs returns — with no soup and an omelette with one veggie or two over rice. Hubs called ginza and asked about the soup and then he was told that soup isn’t given with take-out order. Huh. That would have been nice to mention on the menu. And the price isn’t any less for not having soup. Then he explained that I couldn’t eat eggs and asked if he could bring back the vegetable don to exchange it for one without eggs. Ginza said sure but that they would charge him for it. They were also very rude in response to reasonable requests, and at one point asked hubs how long he’d lived here?!
