What??????????. Okay, I read all the wonderful reviews and decided during my visit to San Diego, my family and I would experience this wonderful ice cream. I have never been so disappointed! Firstly it is a unkept little dive, The ice cream was terrible. The waffle maker was messy and crumbs were everywhere. Apparently no one cleans it….very unappealing. The ice cream was just ok, definitely not in Stone Cold Creamery league. I tried the waffle ice cream sandwich with strawberries and whip cream. The strawberries were not fresh, they were in masked in a gel like sauce that came out of a can. Wow, what a disappointment. Dairy Queen is better. I purchased a treat for my dog and she turned her nose up. My children didn’t like it either. I am shocked that I found this place to be awful with all of the great reviews that this placed received! I can honestly say, this is place is subpar at best. Don’t waste your money……

CASH ONLY!!!. Get in the 21st century, take VISA! I ate here about 7 years ago with my husband, it was amazing! Hot waffle and ice cream smothered in warm peanut butter. I ate here last night and it was so-so. I will not be going back. I had a waffle sandwich with ice cream and peanut butter. The waffle was at best lukewarm and the peanut butter was not warm at all. There’s no parking and the restaurant only takes cash!

Delicious San Francisco style ice cream. Located just steps from the beach, Lighthouse is a great place to stop for a cone or soda; my husband loves the malts. Friendly, unpretentious. And there’s a true OB touch: special non-dairy ice cream for your dog!
