They make good food but it’s not entirely puerto rican it’s mostly Cuban but its good. Some of the food is not thoroughly cooked such as the alcapurias and empanadillas as I’m thinking they are frozen and then fried. Mine was taken back and I was brought some thoroughly cooked ones and they were good.
Nice place. An unexpected find along Morena Blvd. We really liked this place. A nice atmosphere. The food was very good. The pork was moist and flavorful. The rice and potatoes were also flavorful and tasty. The flan was excellent. Frankly, a much better place than the Cuban restaurant Versailles in the Los Angeles area.Overall, this is a good place and I look forward to going back.
The food here is delicious! I love the arroz con pollo and the beef sandwich… So good!
It was our first time. The food was authentic and Incredable! We’ll be back quite often.
Just like Mami used to make! If you want to eat REAL Cuban/Puerto Rican food, this is the place! I’m a boricua born and raised in Humacao. The tostones were fresh; great taste. Ordered the Carne frita with arroz con gandules and they were all awesome! Finally, they gave us a flan; the taste reminded me of home. If you want to eat a sandwich, go to Subway! The price was acceptable ($15 per entree), and the portions were just right (not the American super huge get fat size plates). If you know about real Cuban food, eat here; you’ll know what to order ;D
The food did not taste like authentic Cuban or Puerto Rican cuisine.
Very disappointed. My fiance made a reservation for my birthday, which is also Valentine’s Day. We had a gift certificate for $ 25 and would have spent at least that much in addition. I am from Tampa Florida and have been craving good Cuban food since moving to San Diego. When we arrived we noticed a sign posted that said that they would not be accepting any discounts or ”program” coupons such as kgb or groupon. Since we had a gift certificate I assumed we would be ok, however we were told that they would not accept it. The attitude of the woman was very brusque, bordering on rude, so we decided to take our business, and our money, elsewhere. I unfortunately cannot comment on the food or the service, all I have is this first impression.
