This was a new experience. We were looking for BBQ and found this place. Had the sampler it was shown for 3-4 people. Me and my son in law almost finished it off it was more 2-3. The staff was amazing and friendly and the food was great.
Food. The food has good flavor. The amount they give is small for a BBQJOINT. I’LL COME BACK.
Damn! Glad I found this joint!. So I was down in San Diego and had a place called Phil’s BBQ on my wish list, they are closed on Mondays so I headed off to the highest rated one I found on the Spoon that was close to my location. Bull’s was the choice. So damn glad Phil’s was closed because I found the bombdigity of BBQ in SoCal. I had a half pulled pork half brisquit sandwich, let me tell you, these people respect the meat. If I was a slab of meat this is where I would want to be cooked. Every single bite was juicy, rich, tender and succulent with a beautiful smoked flavor, it had me wanting to take another bite before my mouth was empty, seriously. The fresh, soft roll they put the meat on just added to the heavenly experience. The place was clean with a homey out at the ranch kinda feel that made you completely forget you were in San Diego and had found a nice BBQ road house somewhere in the middle of Texas. The Sweet and the Regular sauces were a little thin for me but the Aioli Sauce had some real nice, get yer lips glowing kinda sweet spice to it, I could have put a straw in it and drank it as is. The corn bread muffins are sublime with butter and honey, I would have had a couple more if I had the time, they were super moist with chunks of corn, fantastic. The young ladies serving were cordial and left me needing for not and kept my soda topped off. Next time I’m down this way I’m going to drag the family in for a sit down, belly bustin dinner. I sure do look forward to my next visit. If they do their ribs half as good as their other meats then I’m gonna be a big greasy, roll me out the door hot mess cause I won’t be able to stop eatin.
This place is great! The server, Romeo, was great! He was very helpful with everything we asked and was fast and friendly! The BBQ was really great also! The brisket was a little dry, but other then that, No complaints at all. And to top it all off, we got a little treat at the end of the meal! We will definitely be going back!
Great atmosphere. You could tell the people love there job. Make sure to try to Mac and cheese and corn better! All around great place to down in San Diego. Make sure to stop by
BBQ tops phil’s! Mac and cheese topped with cheese crumbles, homely style staff, huge outside projector for the game, a pure gem!
We found this restaurant because our kids were intrigued by the big orange bull on the roof. We go back because the food is AMAZING!! Yes, the BBQ is the best I’ve ever had (and I’m not usually a big BBQ person). But the mac n cheese is to die for. The owner is so friendly and attentive. Grandpa Tony always brings my kids balloons and a little scoop of ice cream for dessert. And he always sends us home with a bag of bones for our dogs.
