Lunch visit. Pretty empty and we got great service. I had the Hawaii 5-0. Meat cooked just right and the sauce was good. Plenty of sauce and it dripped down my fingers, fantastic job. Daughter had kookie burger with lots of mushrooms and onions. Vanilla shake had lots of whipped cream and a nice thickness just thin enough to use straw.

Our dining experience tonight was horrible! It took forever for one of the 20 servers to take our order, another lifetime to receive our food (which arrived cold!!!), then our onion rings were completely forgotten!!! The food was extremely overpriced for less than McDonald’s quality!

Yes it’s loud, goofy, and a tourist trap. But it was also a ton of fun! As two twenty somethings we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the atmosphere. We had great service all around, the food was excellent, and the prices were pretty decent. All in all I’d say this was a must-stop in SD for a fun night!

The definitive ’50s experience in San Diego. I heard they moved at some point from Hillcrest to a spot in Point Loma west of the airport, so I hope not much has changed. In fairness, the parking and crowds were always a bit of a headache at the old location, but everything else was so fun and delicious that it was worth it.Sometimes we just need to have a large selection of offensively sweet milkshakes to choose from, or a burger with peanut butter on it, or any of the many other things that make a true ’50s diner experience so precious. Corvette Diner is the one place in San Diego that always delivered. The food is great and consistently well made, but that’s not what sets this place apart. The enormous, wild atmosphere and the unique brand of service is what makes this place memorable. From the live DJ who takes requests from the whole place (I vaguely remember Shotgun Tom being a regular there) to the servers dressed in full ’50s attire who begin their relationship with you by throwing straws across the table, shoving you deeper into your booth so they can plop down next to you while taking your order, and giving you a hard time throughout the meal.A long time ago, my girlfriend and I drove down to San Diego just to meet someone important on my birthday, only to find that the person got confused about the location and never showed up (this was before cell phones). I was heartbroken and the server who saw what had happened literally harassed the dickens out of me the whole time we were there. I gave her my birthday money as a tip and have been a faithful patron of the place ever since.Be warned, the place is loud and you may have trouble on the weekends having a conversation with someone without shouting, but we always did so with big smiles and bigger milkshakes.

Cool decor, excellent diner memories and the typical menu that would accompany a 50’s diner. The only down fall, prepare to be deaf when you leave. It is EXTREMELY loud in here. Other than that great good and great atmosphere.

Entertaining Atmosphere. I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I had heard that it was a really fun place to eat at because of it decor and the food. My boyfriend took me on a date there in the middle of a Thursday afternoon and there were maybe 2 or 3 other tables taken. The place looks great, a lot of work went into the decor of it, pictures of famous singers along with parts of cars on the walls; a lot of bright colors to catch your attention if the big blue Corvette at the entrance didn’t. The music was nice and out-going. Knowing that this restaurant is part of the Cohen Group Restaurants, we were surprised to find that the prices are a lot cheaper than other Cohen restaurants and that was a nice surprise. The service was good; our waitress came in to check on us regularly and knew her menu, it was very accommodating. The food was also really good. The portions were what you would expect from a diner; immense. I was stuffed before finishing half of my plate. The dessert was just the same, even while sharing, we were unable to finish a banana split. All in all, I had a good time here, I will definitely return.
