Empanadas: so so only. not the best I had. The fillings were stingy. Steak and eggs: nothing special. just edible.breakfast scrambles: so so. Service: though it’s kinda semi serve self, but they brought the food to your table. The attitude here was indifferent as if they didn’t really care. Nobody asked me how I wanted my steak done until I rushed back 5 mins later to the cashier to ask if there was a choice. They were inflexible when I inquired about ordering entrees. They told me they woulnd’t have it until 11 though it was already 10:45. I could have waited and occupied the table longer. I don’t think it’s necessary to come all the way to eat here.

Havana Kitchen definitely has a great location. It is impressive to see the number of cars, where parking reminds me of some areas in San Francisco minus the heavy toll one must pay over there to be able to park, of course weekends in Old Town is buzzing with heavy traffic, which undoubtedly is great news for business in the city of Temecula. This place is endorsed by plenty of satisfied patrons, close to 600 reviews in Yelp. So we decided to stop by for the well regarded Cuban coffee, for Cubans are known for their powerful and tasty Cuban espresso, Cafecito, etc. The general consensus is that it is fairly easy to make and the taste is delicious, being masters at using those Espresso makers that they use, which allows them to deliver their world known, and enjoyed, signature coffee. We asked for 4 of their finest but besides the good looking cups in which the coffee came, they were a far cry from the well earned reputation Cuban coffee has. Still, their location is right on the money, and I do not see 4 disappointed coffee enthusiasts having any negative influence by being honest about their experience. 3 Stars.

As good as Cuban home cooking. I used to live in Florida and had many Cuban friends. Big bonus to being friends with a Cuban is getting invited to a home cooked meal. I will have to say that the Havana Kitchen was as good as I have ever eaten, in homes and Florida Cuban restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked for their most popular dish which was Shredded Beef (ropas viejas) and a side of black beans and rice. Soooo good. I also had the locally roasted Cuban coffee, served in a large cup which reminded me of days past that I had a refill and took a pound of beans home too. My wife enjoyed her meal immensely. We were both wishing we had time to stay for dinner too.
