Not thrilled with having to give my phone number to the hostess to be texted when a table was ready. (Lady, I’m 5 feet from you. Just call my name.) Ordered an appetizer (vampire dip) with our drinks 20 mins before we placed our dinner order. App didn’t show up until after dinner entrees arrived and by then the cheese in the dip had congealed. Overall food was average. Service was passable. Monday evening, so not crowded.
This place was referred to by a friend and he was spot on! I had the peanut butter and jealousy burger. I asked for the 50/50 mix and wow, it was amazing. The fries were excellent with the homemade ketchup. A pop tart shake finished out this food coma and will make my afternoon work be missed.
Thanks to my friend who is horrible with directions, we ended up in Point Loma and changed our lunch plans to try out this place. It was pretty busy so had to be good. Our waiter was nice, everything came out in a reasonable time, and the food was good. As a person who isn’t too crazy about bacon (I know, I know how un-American. Get over it), maybe not the spot for me. I see the appeal though for those who love bacon and beer.
Poutine was amazing! Decided to go for the design ur own 50/50 burger. It was good, but not great. Really wanted to love it but it really was very dense and dry. I would have thought having 50 percent bacon it wouldn’t have been so dry. It was cooked well even though I asked for medium, not a deal breaker but might b why it was dry. Overall really good, and will try again
Pros: the burgers were excellent and our bartender, Billy Joe, was great. Cons: everything else. The bacon jalapeo Mac & cheese tasted like it came out of a $.90 box by Kraft. It was runny, there was no bacon in it, and it was topped by 2 slices of jalapeo and crushed Cheez-it’s. And it took 40 minutes to get it. The milkshake tasted like melted ice cream which may explain why it took 20 minutes to make it. Recommendation: get their burgers to go.
Disappointing!. The food was good. The service was terrible, we had to wait a long time and remind the waitresses about our food and refills took forever. We went on our sons birthday, they’re were a couple of other groups celebrating birthdays too, the only difference was that they got their dessert with a candle and the waitress sang with them and my son only got the dessert with no candle and no singing waitress, they had a busboy deliver it . Will not return.
Had the b b b bacon burger and it was outstanding. Had a nutella and banana milkshake and I would highly recommend it.
