Skimpy Servings & Rude Service. I recently went to Byblos cafe a few days ago to satisfy my falafel craving. We were seated by a grumpy old man who seemed to be in a bad mood. We both ordered falafel and we decided to try the hummus as an appetizer. Under the description of the hummus it said that it was served with a side of pita and a plate of vegetables and olives. When we got the hummus I nearly laughed out loud! There was a small bowl with approximately 3 Tablespoons of hummus, 2 small pieces of pita bread, and literally 2 olives, 2 small pieces of cucumber and 2 pieces of pickled turnips. I could not believe that this could cost 6 $. When I asked politely if we could maybe get a few more olives and another piece of bread, the wife of the grumpy man told us that was the portion size and if we wanted more we would have to pay for it. The hummus was very bland, nearly tasteless. The falafel sandwiches were extremely skimpy as well. The food was unimpressive and the service was even worse. I more than likely will NEVER RETURN to this restaurant again!
A treasure to cherish. Authentic Middle-Eastern prepared and served in a serene, old-world cafe. Watch the busy world rush by from the sidewalk tables while sipping your authentic Turkish Coffee.
