A musubi is definitely one of those snacks that puts a smile on my face. If I could, I’d eat these on a daily basis. As much as I eat them, I’ve never had one that hasn’t contained spam. Luckily I came across Musubi Monster and after seeing a menu with a variety of meat options, I had to give it a shot.First, I’ll mention the numerous types of poke that’s displayed near the entrance. There’s so many flavors to choose from. A poke fan’s head would spin. I hear the flavors change sometimes on the weekends too. I came for their namesake which is the musubi’s and though I didn’t try any of the poke, I was impressed by the variety of flavors.I ordered a Bento Box which allows your choice of 3 types of musubi’s from a list of 5 with a drink for $10.95. Other types are available outside of the list. The other option for the Bento Box includes two musubi’s and a side of poke. My choices were kalua pig, teri-spam and spicy mochiko chicken musubi’s.The kalua pig meat was quite flavorful. There was more meat than what appeared visually on the musubi and I enjoyed it. The only thing I’d do different next time for this musubi is have teriyaki sauce to replace the spicy sauce used on it. I like a hint of sweet between the meat and rice. Next up was the spicy mochiko chicken musubi. I tried mochiko chicken for the first time in Vegas, loved it and can pretty much say the same for this mochiko chicken. I couldn’t help thinking a sunny-side up egg on top would have been epic haha. Last but not least, the spam musubi took the crown and was the best of the three. I can’t help but love the saltiness of spam in combination with teriyaki sauce while adding more saltiness to it (soy sauce). So delicious!I ate pretty fast and drove off very satisfied. With that being said another visit is to come. I have my sights set on the Portuguese, loco moco, tempura shrimp, and more spam musubi’s. I’ll also be giving the poke a shot. I’d be foolish not to try the poke. It looks awesome.Visit Date 10/8/2016
