Mariscos!!!. When you are in the mood for a shrimp or seafood cocktail you really should look for a sign advertising MARISCOS. Find yourself a good one and you’ll save a lot of dough over the red leather booth places that will sell you one for a lot more. It’s odd that this place has been here in my neighborhood so long and i’ve never been there. Oh I’ve seen it as I drove through the Del Taco, but that was mostly when I went into an office to work and was pressed for time. So it took a friend of mine stopping in an raving about the place to put it on my watchlist.Well I was walking by today and decided I would try their shrimp cocktail given that they indeed advertise mariscos. I went with the medium one which you see in the photo. It had about a dozen medium sized shrimp, cucumber, avocado and the cocktail sauce, which in a good mexican one is more gazpacho like than ketchup like. It comes without much spice but as with any good place they had you the hot sauce at the same time. Mmmmmm, that some so refreshing lunch.The chips that came with it were warm and fresh. They served those up with squeeze bottles of a red and green sauce. Both were thin purees with good flavor.
