The Tacos and burritos have had much better quality at first time I had there! Its such a big shame for a taco place like this that couldnt keep the food quality as It was before!!! I wont go there anymore!!
I found Nemo!! Possibly the best fish tacos I’ve had in all my travels. Fresh fish, perfectly fried with no hint of oil and served in a soft tortilla. Make sure to get their red spicy sauce and cilantro dressing along with the tacos. Casual SD vibe, with great customer service and clean restroom. That said, there’s no AC and you feel like a battered fish inside the restaurant. I’ll be back!
Stopped here after a day of kayaking. Tiny spot, counter outdoor eating only. Some of the best fish tacos I have had so far. We ordered the beer battered fish and shrimp tacos. Great corn tortillas. Worth waiting in line! Try the different options of sauces. Wash your tacos down with some Mexican Coke 🙂
Oscar’s is simple and delicious. The authentic Mexican Seafood is like being dropped right smack dab in the middle of Baja! I can’t even begin to describe how fresh the seafood is, it’s that good!My favorite Oscar’s location is on Turquoise St. next to the West End in Birdrock. They have other locations in town, one near the Pacific Beach boardwalk and another in Hillcrest. But, I like the Birdrock location the best because it offers outdoor seating. Keep in mind that Oscar’s is cash only and be prepared to wait. You’ll be glad you did! While I can only assume that all the tacos are great, the two that I recommend are the Surf and Turf Taco made with Skirt Steak and Shrimp, and the Battered Fish or Shrimp Taco. Both are served with cabbage, onion, tomato and cilantro. And don’t forget to try the Shrimp Ceviche, it’s the best!
I ordered the battered fish and octopus tacos on 6/29/16 and got food poisoning. I’ve never been so sick in my life! I stayed up all night vomiting. Be careful with the seafood here!
Hands down, best tacos ever. The taco especial with pulpo, best. I would fly from Australia just to come to Oscar’s for one of these. Thank you Oscar’s for letting me taste the best taco I’ve ever had but also no thanks for ruining all other tacos for me as they just won’t cut it now.
When you walk in, it doesn’t seem like much. Just another taco shop like the rest. But this little hole in the wall taco shop is far from ordinary. They have a small menu, but what they serve is delicious. I’m not a big seafood fan and I loved it. The tacos are fresh and colorful, and did I mention delicious? On top of great food, the server was very sweet!
