Fantastic meal. Great fishery soup made with fish stock in a tomato base which gives it another depth in flavor. Good scallops. Huge portions of calamari.
Great food, great service. Simple. A 5/5 and will be back. The food was very, very good (You can even buy fresh fish to take home and cook yourself). The service was excellent. (May need a reservation so call in advance) Will be back.
Fresh seafood. The Fishery menu has classic seafood entrees as well as upscale versions of casual fair like fish and chips and fried shrimp. I had the Troll King salmon miso and it was very good. The service was friendly and they were happy to accommodate our big group which include two young children.
The food is amazing, however the wait is incredibly annoying. Even if you have a reservation, it’s a minimum of 15min before you sit down and eat. The hostesses are rude and not really helpful. The halibut is delicious and the desserts are divine, especially the balsamic reduction strawberries over vanilla ice cream.
After travelling extensively throughout asia, the carribean, and hawaii, as well as both US coasts and eating at the highest rated seafood eats in all of the locations, this was the best. The fishery has an exciting menu which is masterfully prepared while still retaining larger size portions lost in many similar establishments. I highly recommend the steammed mussels to start and then the bacon wrapped scallops (an interesting adaptation of a standard favorite). The atmosphere is quaint and casual and the staff I’d friendly. Despite the $130 price tag for my fiance and I (including wines and full meals) the fishery delivered far beyond what I have come to expect of equally priced fare!
Over priced for what you get my wife had the fish and chips, they tasted like something that came out of a box rubbery. I had clams with pasta the clams were gritty and overall the flavor of the dish was basically burnt garlic and butter almost inedible. Would not go back
I really enjoy this place. The menu is great and the food is even better. This is a must stop while in San Diego for me!
