A rating on one is still to high for this restaurant. The customer service is horrible, the old man owner himself made a scene and told us our company and our clients were not welcome in his restaurant. We call weeks and days in advance to make sure we could have a meeting of 9 people and we were told yes, however when our guests show up, the owner took it upon himself to harass them, and flat out tell us we had to leave. Terrible, I don’t know how this place even gets customers with the horrible customer service.
If you want to be treated like garbage for bring people to their restaurant, this is the place for you! Im with a company who holds small seminars or meetings for seniors all over CA and we have these meetings at different restaurants every week. Every restaurant we go to is thrilled to have us bring 20-40 new guests who probably would have never gone in the first place in for the week in small 2-10 person groups. Not at Billy Reeds! Our office called Billy Reeds to give them a heads up on our meetings over a month ahead of time and we were told to come on in! Then the day before our meetings which are held two days a week at two different times 11AM and 2PM we called them again to let them know we are coming and to give them a head count. Once again the front desk lady told us she would be setting up our table for us. Once I arrived there I was confronted by one of the owners asking me Who gave me the right to have a meeting at their restaurant?? I informed him that we had given the restaurant the heads up twice on our plans and I was told that whoever we talked to, didnt have the authority to authorize that? Well Should I have made sure the receptionist had the authority to take reservations like every other restaurant in America? He begrudgingly allowed me to use a couple of tables which were full of our patrons to give my 20 minute presentation followed by a lunch for every guest that our company invited. ALL of our guests receive a drink and a full lunch paid for by my company. When it was time for the afternoon meeting, I had left and one of my reps came in to have lunch and meet with two other prospects. The owner complained that I had only spent $150 there for my 8 guests and he would be better off giving those tables to someone else and receive a higher check. My guests had food and drinks! Does he have guests coming in for bottles of champagne at 11AM on a Wednesday? The following day (our final day of meetings) we received a threatening phone call at our office that one of our guests had come in for a meeting and that we needed to tell everyone to go somewhere else! Are you kidding me Billy Reeds?? We are bringing customers to your establishment and feeding them! Isnt that what your restaurant is for? For people to go there and eat? Im so sorry we give them our company info for 20 minutes before they eat. We didnt ask for half the restaurant to ourselves. We used a couple tables which were all full of our guests. I never write reviews but I have never been treated like a bigger piece of garbage in my entire life at a restaurant. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy and will never step foot in this outdated restaurant with average food again. Well take our guests to another restaurant in Palm Springs who values their customers.
