Get the chile rellano. I come to Palm Springs a week a year and make sure I get them at least twice while I’m here. The salsa is great too. The staff is always friendly and the food is delicious. What more could you want?
FIVE STARS FOR LA PERLITA. As a former maitre d’ and sommeilier at a French restaurant in Aspen, CO, I have a professional perspective when I am dining out.I have been to this restaurant many times over the last few years. On each occasion the experience was exceptional, both in terms of hospitality and quality of food.Yesterday, I called the owner Angel de la Torre in the morning to ask if they would be open when I picked up my cousin at the airport a few minutes away who was scheduled to arrive at 7:51 PM (just before closing). My cousin arrived a few minutes late and we did not get to the restaurant until 8:20.NOT ONLY did Angel, his wife Maria (the chef) and their two sons, Jose and Diwan welcome us saying they had waited for our arrival, but they regaled us with a delicious dinner and stories about their family.Their generosity of their time and caring is UNHEARD OF in this day and age. Kudos go out to a one of a kind family and a one of a kind restaurant.BRAVO!!! May we all be the benficiaries of the de la Torre family for years to come.
Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. Great sopes (a new treat for us) and Chile rellenos were the best. Stick with beer since the drinks were not all that great.
The family owners are so charming and friendly you will want to go back if only to feel like one of the family. The restaurant is no frills but the food and margaritas are very good and the prices are extremely reasonable.
Good food, good service, good value.. If you’re looking for great authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price, look no further. The food is cooked and served by a warm and welcoming family that clearly takes pride in its restaurant. I would pick La Perlita over any glitzy chain restaurant any day.
We tried this restaurant while on vacation. The chile rellano was excellent! The chips could have been warmed but that is a minor quible. Overall it was great!
The moment you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with a warm smile & a friendly atmosphere. Its a family owned restaurant & instead of feeling like a customer, you leave feeling like a guest in their own home. Talk about home cooking, they are known for the Chile Relleno whom their mother makes(a family traditional recipe) Need I say more? NO! EVERYTHING and I mean everything on the menu is absolutely Divine!
