An honest establishment with good food. Lack of Abita beers made me sad. Service was a bit haphazard but it’s a family affair and has several high school kids lending a hand so that’s to be expected as they try their best. The gumbos and etouffees are on point. Also, take heed with their hot sauce. They have a ghost pepper sauce that is the real deal. If you like heat and Cajun this is the spot to be.

After an exciting day at the LA County Airshow in Lancaster (post coming soon!), all I wanted was some homey comfort food. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I found Lee Esther’s Creole And Cajun Cooking in Palmdale, a few minutes south of the General William J. Fox Airfield. It might be a bit hard to find the location at night since the street is not very well lit. Try looking for SHOGUN, a Japanese restaurant that’s next door, which has a slightly bigger and brighter sign. There’s plenty of street parking.Walking into the location, it felt like walking into someone’s kitchen, complete with a little table of delicious hot sauces and decorations reminding me of New Orleans.I ordered the highly recommended Crawfish Etoufee and was amazed by the amount of flavor that I was spooning into my mouth. I got the 3 out of 5 spiciness, but wished I had gotten the 5.If you’re a spicy cajun fan, this is a must try!Other notes:* Very good prices, $11 for the big plate of Crawfish Etoufee, $2.50 for each side. nomntravel.com

Went there with a couple of buddies. We all loved the food. I had the boudin balls which were amazing and the crawfish touffe which was great. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Cajun food.

Seriously! Awesome. Wow. Beignets. Boudins. Ribs with an 100 year old barbeque sauce recipe passed down from the chef’s Grandma. Great food. Should have went sooner.

Best Food in the AV. My co-workers and I decided to have lunch here after one of them became obssessed after having one meal and that’s all it took for the rest of us. I had the red beans and rice with turkey tasso and was in heaven!! Every bite was perfection. It was super hot, fresh and a little spicy. I sampled a bite of each dish and was blown away that everything had been made so well. We are truly lucky to have this establishment so close to home and should frequent it as much as possible to show our support!
