Great night!!. We had a very nice experience (first time diners at this restaurant). Read the reviews and found them accurate (to my taste). Six of us gathered for a nice dinner. The food was excellent (Grilled Sea Bass, Charbroiled prawns, Susan’s downfall (ravioli with yummy sauce), Chicken Marsala, and Rack of lamb. All the food was beautifully presented, had excellent taste and was an appropriate amount (not too much or too little). The warm spinach salad was to die for and the desserts were very tasty (good range of choices). The atmosphere was perfect for visiting (we did go a little early before the restaurant was completely full(5:30) but found the surroundings pleasantly inviting. Enjoyed the three tenors music, the excellent service and timely spacing of the courses.Only negative comment made by my son-in-law–he found the coffee cup handle too small….ho–ho. ..So small an issue. Eager to share this dining experience with other friends
My Mom’s Favorite Place. We’ve been going to Cafe Pro Bono for quite a number of years now because my mother loves the place, particularly the Spaghetti Bolognese. I’ve had a variety of dishes here from the Pasta w/sausage to various seafood specials. Most of the time the dishes are done quite well and the prices, for Palo Alto, are reasonable. Plus the staff, starting with the owner, are all very friendly and competent. They need to do some marketing as their clientele seems to be elderly and I’m not seeing a lot of younger replacements as the blue hairs start dying off. It’s a little off the beaten path but well worth going to.
