Love their bagels here. I haven’t had NY Bagels, so I can’t compare. I can compare it to other local bagel shops and Izzy’s tops them all. Their bagels are always fresh, chewy and soft. I don’t care much if they are kosher or not. Get the Lox Special or Lox with veggies. Yum! If you don’t like a lot of cream cheese, you might want to let them know ahead of time cause they put a good amount. Lines can get long.

Worst customer service – don’t order catering. We ordered a $300.00 plus order from Izzy’s this November for a surprise party. I had to call more than 4 times to place the order, each time dealing with a different person who didn’t seem to know what to tell me. After the order was finalized. the prices were different than the prices on the website. Not just one mistake – but numerous mistakes. Even the bagel prices on the website is not what they actually charge. And then there is the $120 delivery fee. I had also paid extra to have the bagels sliced and some of them were partially sliced (not all the way through) and some of them were NOT sliced at all. The order arrived on time, however it was missing two ESSENTIAL parts of the order (two different platters). When I called to request the correction, they did not offer to call the delivery driver or to try to correct the mistake. The only thing they offered was to refund the money for the two missing orders (not even to refund the delivery charge). Unfortunately Izzy’s is one of the only kosher places in the Bay Area so I will have to buy bagels from them again….but I would NEVER order from their catering and you definitely cannot rely on their prices or for them to deliver what you ordered. Customer service is not their priority. I was so disappointed as I wanted to support this local, small business.
As a native Brooklynite, Izzy’s has my seal of bagel approval. The bagels are fresh and doughy, the way they should be. I love the fact there are pictures of my old neighborhood!
