This is the second time Ive dined at the Pasadena location. Since its an Argentina themed restaurant, appetizers include Empanadas with two choices: beef, spinach and cheese, corn and queso fresco, chicken, ham and cheese, mushroom, basil and cherry tomato. They offer a choice of two or three Argentinean sausages. Heres where you can order tapas, pinxos and Argentinean wines. They offer a selection of fresh fish that includes filet of sole and grilled salmon prepared three different ways. They also make canelones one with lean ground beef Ragusa and another with spinach and cheese. The Tabla Mixta is a platter with two or more types of steaks.Dessert is a flourless chocolate cake and dish of ice cream and sorbet. dineandtravel.wordpress.com

Ambience is very nice, dress nicely. Always better to overdress than to underdress.Place is dim, has candlelights, not too loud. Great servers. Came here with some friends. What we ordered:Empanadas- I haven’t tried it, but one person said she liked it, another said it was too dry and flavorless ( I trust his palette a little more)Churrasco a la Pimienta- Flat iron steak with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes. Tried some, and it was pretty flavorful. Entrana al Chimichurri- Skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and grilled vegetables. This is what I ordered. Out of 5 stars, I give it a 3. Steak was cooked well but didn’t have enough flavor. I tasted NO chimichurri at all. It’s disappointing when you feel like you can make the meal way better at home than a place that specializes in Argentinean food. I probably wouldn’t order it again.Bife Al Malbec (?) Aged New York Steak Special- the saving grace of all the meals. The sauce was zamazing-not too heavy, but definitely not light; had a slight creamy texture to it- probably au ju with butter, cream, or flour. Think there were baby pearl onions, shiitake mushrooms and broccoli in it as well. GET IT!Tallarines Golfo Nuevo-seafood pasta. GoodSalmon- didn’t try it, but friend said it was good. Desserts- haven’t tried any since I normally don’t order desserts, but looking at some pics on yelp, I regret not trying any. Maybe next time I visit!Make reservations, and be on time. franklyidgaf.com

Everything is pre-made so I wasn’t able to get a non dairy version of the sauces. The tenderloin was mediocre and the bacon was lousy. First time I’ve ever said that.
