Bless Your Heart Bakery is a small shop in down town Paso Robles that is a specialty shop. They offer a small selection of gluten free, low glycemic, diabetic friendly baked goods, products and a few other things. Very few sweets were on display on my two visits. This shop does mostly eat in or take out sandwiches made on their special healthy breads. All the meats they offer are nitrate free. They hand you a check off sheet so you customize your sandwich the way you like and you pay a reasonable price for your healthy hand sliced sandwich. I liked the fresh roasted turkey sandwich on fresh baked rosemary healthy bread. The first bite was odd because healthy bread texture is different but as I ate it the sandwich just became more and more delicious. This sandwich filling as it was didn’t leave me in a bread coma like a big sandwich normally does. I liked the way it felt light and healthy with natural tasting meat. It was very good. Other sandwiches we tried were the nitrate free salami and the nitrate free pastrami. I noticed they also offer egg salad and sometimes have fresh chicken. This is a very small cafe and has a few tables inside and a small patio outside. They make the perfect sandwiches to take out where your exploring wine county.
