Friendly but Bland. Searching for Mexican places in Paso Robles, this place has the advantage of great visibility (assuming you’re willing to cruise further up Spring St. out of the nicer downtown area). The greeter and waitress were both very friendly. It’s a very informal place. The food is marginal at best. Nothing outright wrong with it, but certainly nothing interesting or impressive. I had the fish tacos which were serviceable but would have benefited from more sauce. My wife’s taco salad seemed pretty basic. The kids enjoyed their child menu options (bean & cheese burrito, nachos, and burger). Sides of rice and beans are pretty boring. The children’s menu advertises that all meals come with an ice cream sundae – which obviously impressed the kids. However I had to specifically ask the server for the desserts. It wasn’t a problem, but it was clear that she hadn’t intended to bring them voluntarily – which might have launched World War III. The sundaes were *very* small, but were adequate to avoid serious child meltdown.A longer time in Paso revealed a variety of other Mexican food places that I will try in the future. This place was friendly, just not very tasty.

There are MUCH better places. I liked this one at first until I found some MUCH better Mexican restaurants. The food & the service are not consistent. One day you get pretty good food & the next you will get rancid chips, etc. Same with the service. One day you’ll get a perky waiter & the next you’ll get Sullen Sally. I think the bar is what’s keeping Senor Sancho’s alive, quite frankly.

The food is not authentic Mexican. It tastes very bland and for the taste and portions, it’s a rip off.The bathrooms are moderately clean. On the good side, they were very nice and we were seated quickly although we did go at 3:30 not too busy.
