My friends & I decided to do something special for our once a month get-together for Christmas & go to the Ritz. As we expected, it was expensive, but what was disappointing, we went home hungry. The beet salads were $12 each and we had to look for the beets and were tiny. I ordered the scallops and received 3 small scallops on a huge plate with a little cabbage (the same as with the beet salad) for $34. I usually bring home leftovers, but this time I ate again when I got home.
Excellent service! Chilled bear glass! My husband Loved that they Wished him happy birthday. The chef’s set menu was amazing and so was the Cabernet, Dunn 2005.
Can’t beat the ambience in this Tahoe mountain setting, within the excellent Ritz Carlton Hotel. If you made it to this Northstar destination, you can probably afford the fare in Manzanita. Very friendly and attentive wait staff, very tasty dishes (small portions), the short rib in red wine reduction is excellent. The warm bread salad is as good here as it is at Le Jardiniere in SFO.
Poor service, limited menu, so so food. Uninspired!
Yummy Tomato Basil Pizza and Peach Cheesecake!. Yesterday we dined at Manzanita for lunch at the post Ritz-Carlton. The hotel is beautiful in a pretty setting. We dined outside and enjoyed the Tomato-Basil Pizza with two glasses of wine which our server recommended. The pours were generous and our service very attentive. The Peach Cheesecake was heavenly with a Poached Peach on top and fresh berries on the side. I want to return for dinner here soon! 🙂
Best Cuban sandwich I ever had bit the service was slow and our order was messed up. Beware the Croque Monsieur – it’s covered in a hideous cream sauce! I was told my soup would be carrot Ginger and i was served a too heavy creamy potato leek.
5 of drove from SLT on a snowy evening to be impressed with the ambiance but disappointed with several dishes. Bread salad appetizer was not warm as advertised. Lobster pasta main dish incredibly small portioned and strange tasting. 8oz filet was perfect.
