Great food! Quaint restaurant atmosphere!. We had salmon, chicken pasta, and a sandwich – it was all delicious. The people are very friendly and the restaurant is a great local spot. We highly recommend it as a destination or for take-out.
The way a Good Mom Cooks!. Definately a wholesome, appropriate porportioned and balanced meal. It’s nice to have real food that feels like your at your favorite family’s house. Quality food without the complex high prices, something the locals learn and notice.
Just What this area needed !!!. The choices for a GREAT and AFFORDABLE meal are a bit limited around Tahoe City ~ Homewood area. Sure you can go sit on the deck @ Sunnyside and pay $ 14.00 for a reg. size salad w/ 2 tiny pieces of meat (did that last week) OR you can get Stuffed Shrimp @ Spoon for less than that sparce salad from Sunnyside BUT you are also going to get steamed vegetables and brown rice… The menu may be limited ~ but the quality most definately out weighs the quantity of choices … The ‘neighborhood’ is HAPPY to have Spoon OPEN for business… 🙂
Better to stay home. This place is family style. Unfortunately the place is not clean, the food is not well prepared and the service is poor. I ordered red snapper with mashers, broccoli and cheddar. The fish was salty, over cooked and the portion size would have been small for a kids menu. The broccoli was ok, if tiny. The mashers were covered with some kind of grey gravy (with fish?) the cheddar was not there. The waitress and the chef forgot every request we made. My dish was not worth the $13 it cost. My wife ordered Ground Turkey Bolognese, but asked to substitute a tomato sauce. Our server told us that they forgot the substitution. When they finally brought out the dish it looked as if they just added tomato sauce to the cream sauce it looked lumpy and grainy.A much better value can be had across th street at Sunnyside. Comparable entree there might cost$17 but it would be beautifully prepared and a large serving of high quality food. Sunnyside is clean and the diningroom is beautiful, with views of Tahoe. For lunch I would go next door to Firesign Cafe. A main dish might cost $15 to $25, but a comparable dish might be
No Need for a Taster, It’s All Good!. Many of the Staff and Volunteers at Disabled Sports USA Far West http://www.youtube.com/user/DisabledSportsUSAFW enjoy the wholesome cooking and deep layers of flavor that come from Spoon. Soups are a specialty here-unique flavors with consistent quality! Lots of local Disabled Sports-ers visit both Spoon locations on the West Shore and at the base of Subway lift at Alpine Meadows. Thanks for the good cookin’!
Best Tomato Soup ever. My family and I enjoyed our experience at Spoon. Great soups, sandwiches, and home cooked specials. Soup is a little place that may easily be overlooked, but I encourage you to try this gem. You won’t be sorry.
Delicious food!. A great restaurant with a big city feel. Delicious food and friendly service. Go take a look, you’ll love it.
