Good – service could develop insight. 4 of us stopped to have lunch @ Heyday after going to Apple Hill. Everyone’s lunch was more than acceptable except my Greek Salad. They left 3 items off the salad that was listed on the menu. When I brought this to their attention the threw a few thin slices of cucumber and cherry peppers in a little bowl and gave them to me. I told them that it was still a bad salad and didn’t taste anything like a Greek salad. They offered no solution to the miserable salad. I guess I should have sent it back and refused to pay for it as I didn’t eat it.So what am I saying? If you rarely eat in Placerville try somewhere else.

Is the Heyday okay. First let me say that I love the Heyday. I frequent it often and have always had great food. That is why I was shocked at my last dinner visit. Their great Ceasar salad was mostly yellow lettuce without that awesome normal anchovy dressing. The penne Giardino was floating in balsamic cream sauce. It was soup like. My fiends pizza was just blah. I hope it was just an off night. Hopefully there has not been a change in chef. I want to still love the Heyday. I will keep going

Heyday had a great environment, great food, great wine and an amazing owner. Had the pleasure to meet Ben (the owner) he took great care of us, made wonderful suggestions and even made a call to a local vineyard to help us out. Best. Experience. Ever! Definitely recommend.

Probably the best dinner we’ve had in a loooong time! Great food and service. We will definitely be back soon.

Sure, you could make the food at home, but you’re in Placerville. I enjoyed the salad Nicoise, not a traditional presentation, but I’m no snob. We thought we got what we paid for.

Solid Food and Wine Bar. Was traveling through and stopped for a quick bite in Downtown Placerville. Very friendly atmosphere at the counter and a conversational server.Had the housemade potato and bacon soup to start, which was similar to a potato and leek, just with a lot of bacon. Soup was hot, good, and filling. My main course was a chicken saltimbocca with mixed veg and rustic mashed potato. The highlight was the mashed potato. Skins were left on and rough mashed. Loads of flavor, really good. The chicken was well prepared, moist and well seasoned. The sauce was so hot, the cream broke, but not a disaster. I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. They also have a solid wine list of local and international wines by the glass and bottle.
