Dan Dixon. Food not good and a lot of money, Not manage well at all. Drinks and bar Ok!
We sat on the patio and enjoyed an excellent dinner. The service was great and the food was superb. I can’t wait to go back to try something different
Great, Awesome and not so good…. The calamari with honey chili dippng sauce is great. Fried very crispy and sauce so so good spicy sweet. My entre was the seared Ahi with raspberry sauce and a spicey mustard dip. The Ahi was on a resotto cake and topped with corn, tomato, cilantro. It was awesome. My friends both had the avocado salmon burger…not so good. It was fishy.
Deficient Dining in Placerville. I must start off by saying that the server was great as was the cocktail from the bar. We had a bit of a wait for our food on a slow night which would be forgivable had our food been worth the wait. My daughter ordered the salmon burger and when it was served it was on a bun that appeared to have come out of a Wonder Bread bag…….I expected something made by a local bakery or, even better, made in their kitchen. Her soup was warmish. I ordered a buttermilk batter dipped and fried chicken breast which looked like a piece of roasted beef when it was brought out. It was the color of dark chocolate and tasted slightly burned!!! We were so disappointed in our experience. This was my second poor experience in this establishment and won’t be back. Luckily there are several great restaurants in the area that will get our business from now on. Won’t be surprised to see the doors close at The Independent!!!
The bartender is friendly and talented with her concoctions. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Very limited menu and the dinner fare was average. If you are vegan you will go home without dinner. If you’re vegetarian you’re stuck with a salad. Quite limited for a California restaurant.
EXCELLENT food and service. Open late in a town that rolls up the sidewalks early.
Really good burger. The place really isn’t a burger joint, but they have one on the menu. I was in the mood, so I ordered it: perhaps one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had. You’ll have to order one to find out why.I don’t have much reason to visit Placerville, but sure would like the excuse to make the drive again.
