Stopped by on my way to In-N-Burger. I thought I might sit down and have a decent dinner instead of my usual protein style double double. What’s pleasant surprise. My waitress, Laura P., was very patient with me as I was on the phone with an important phone call. In any case the portion size was to my liking and the my meal was very good. I assume that this restaurant is certainly a favorite among the locals since it is nearly full on a Tuesday night. I would highly recommend it.
I was really hoping for a great breakfast joint. They are always packed on weekends so we figured try on a weekday afternoon. Better half said let’s go for lunch, I should have listened but noooo I had to order breakfast. You walk in and you get the cabin feeling crossed with crazy old aunt collector. Bears are everywhere, curtains, carvings, paintings, stuffed bears, you name it there is a bear or a bear paw, very kitschy. You can see from my pic the over easy eggs are burned around the edges, the pancakes are huge and fluffy, overly sweet and slightly undercooked. The bacon was good, thick and meaty with a little smoke but the sausages (hiding behind the pancakes) were obviously cooked much earlier because they were wrinkled like the crazy aunt that had been in a pool all morning. What made the sausages horrible was they were not reheated thoroughly, when I bit into the sausage I got a lovely squirt of cool grease. That was the end of breakfast right there. The waitress wanted to bring me a new plate of sausage, nah. Why would I want the same OLD sausage but this time reheated correctly? My table mates enjoyed their meals but they are not the ones voting here. My breakfast was not good. I might try one of their lunches if we are on the road and that’s what is available but I highly doubt I’ll drive across town to eat here again. I hate to say it but I would have done better at Denny’s around the corner.
