In general we like PF Chang’s. However, on Thursday evening last week there were some service issues. We arrived around 8:30 pm and were told there would be a one hour wait. The hostess asked for my phone number so she could call us when our table was ready, and we did some shopping in the adjacent mall. We were back just under an hour later, but had not received the call. The hostess said she left a voicemail, but I did not get the message until we started to our table. Technology is wonderful when it works. Oh well, stuff happens. We were seated around 9:30 pm, and the restaurant didn’t look too busy. Our server was pleasant and took our order. We chose the P.F. Chang’s for Two, a fixed price menu with soup, appetizer, and two main dishes; dessert would be extra. We started with cup of Hot and Sour Soup each; good soup. Then we shared Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps. A bit messy; the lettuce pieces were mostly too small for wrapping, but it was tasty. Then we waited. After a little while another server came to our table and told us that our server had gone on break, and that he would be looking after us. I get that; sometimes your restaurant meal conflicts with a server’s schedule. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. After a while I started looking around to flag someone, to see if they could find our server. Someone must have noticed, and my guess is they alerted a manager, who came by and apologized for the delay. Then she asked if we wanted anything, and I said we wanted our dinner. Not much more was offered. The two main dishes finally arrived (not either of our previous servers). Kung Pao Chicken (nice little kick) and Beef with Broccoli (some of the beef was a bit chewy). They didn’t charge us for the Banana Spring Roll dessert. Fortunately SWMBO likes bananas, but I don’t. We left the restaurant at 11:30 pm, two hours after we were seated.

Good, tasty meal but no more than average quality!Monday night dinner, just ordered the shrimp dumplings which were ok and the black pepper prawns which were served on a big portion and tasted good!Overall a nice, simple meal without nothing memorable to get from it!

Dinner after work on a Monday. The restaurant was full but the service was pretty quick and good! Had the pumpkin dumplings as starter which were delicious, with some cheese inside and the sauce with fresh herbs. The main course was also very tasty. The grilled salmon with asparagus and a peppers had some great spice and acidity, although the salmon was slightly overcooked. Overall a good experience! Ricardo Lima

Tried again, was hopeful.. Started off with a lettuce wrap chicken and the ice burg lettuce over powered the flavor of the chicken but was very salty. The sesame chicken was uber tender but the slight hint of ginger in the sauce left me wanting for more flavor. The Cantonese shrimp was fresh and the sweet peas were crunchy. The sweet and sour soup was ok. Rice was done right. I liked the iced tea and the shot glass desserts were not great. It was mid day so we figured that was training time for service, our server did well but there were some misses. All in all, this was our second try here and probably the last.09 Apr, 2010Wayyyyy to expensive for the experiemce.

Great service; however, the portions are small considering the prices. Otherwise the food is okay considering it’s americanized Chinese food.

Can’t go wrong with a simple portion of beef fried rice, but the portion was definitley smaller than the last time.

IT’S ALL DOWNHILL FOR THIS CHAIN. Been a fan since i worked at the walnut creek pf changs and so looked forward to this location but not a fan of this location. i have told my parents for so long about the great food and wanted them to experience it but no go. we had some of my favs but everything was so overcooked and very bland. we had the lemon pepper shrimp, orange beef, honey chicken and pork chow mein but was all just so damn bad. the beef was tough and the portions were small and dry. maybe they need time to get it together since it is a new location but we were sooo disappointed with the food. i felt so bad since i loved the food but they came up short this time. for the price and food quality there are so many better places in the area for this kind of food.
