4 of us. Waited 10-15 before anyone approached the table. Was told Dim Sum was only served at breakfast time. Ordered fried Wontons, orange chicken, curry chickedn, pork fried rice, and a seafood noodle dish. After 20 minutes, the orange chicken came. It was good, but no rice on the table. We ate it. Then the noodle dish came 10 minutes later. Pretty good, but the Calamari? In it was like rubber. Another 10 minutes, and the rice show up. Decent rice, but you can’t just eat rice solo. 30 minutes later we are all out of water, and food dishes are empty, and we figure to cut our losses and leave. Out comes the curry chicken, it is literally inedible. Not spicy, watery curry, near raw chicken with bone chips in it. We bravely try to eat it and fail. Wontons are still AWOL. Ask for check, and ask to have Wontons and curry dish removed from bill. Manager barely speaks English, but agrees. I have never seen a restaurant run so poorly in my life. Sigh…
THE SERVICE IS REALLY BAD. We had dim sum there on a Sunday Morning. We got seated right away and almost everything going downhill from there. They do not have wait staff so you cannot get any kind of services there. We waited for 5 minutes before someone ask us what we want to drink. There were only two carts circling the restaurant at the beginning. I want to order the dim sum from the menu but no one will help me. My tea ran out and no one will refill it for me. We could have order more at that time but decided to just call it a quit. There is no need to sit there watching the same carts go around and around. The dim sum what we had are very good and the price are rather inexpensive. That is the only good thing that I can say about our experience. They need to hire more people. Their service sucks.
This was the first time I went to dim sum ever in my life! I loved it! And it’s FUN! We got lucky & came on a 1/2 off day which was on a Thursday. Great & friendly place!
Something’s definited changed. We used to frequent Pearl’s every other weekend for dimsum. It was a decent place to have family weekend brunch – given the drive from Temecula. Since we know the staffs, we always get great service..but yes, we had to earn that priviledge with our regular dues. However, we went back there in August…the food was just horrible. The taste was off and definitely, the dim sum was not fresh. Perhaps this was the one odd occasion..no, unfortunately, the following visit proved the same…We were able to get some info out of the staffs — its either mgmt changed or new chef..Needless to say, we’re not making a 35 mins drive to this place anymore…
Expect no service. Not a bad place to eat (dim sum only) but money can be well spend at other places. Horrible service, maybe I should say those people have no clue what service is all about. It is one of those places that all they want is your money and nothing else. The owner himself is also an Jacka$$.
I only do dim sum and they are very good. I do travel in China and Hong Kong a lot and I see little to no difference. Actually it feels like Asia as majority of the customers are Asian. Depending on the time of the day and day of the week you might have to wait for a table and this is always a good sign.. I love it and visit the place frequently
Best Chinese Restaurant in RB. This is probably the best Chinese Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain area. It is an elegant restaurant, so the prices reflect that, but I think it is worth it for a nice dinner. They have very good Dim Sum for lunch as well.
