I really like this place. The old burger and beer combination will never go out of style in my book.Urge is hidden away inside a hallway of shops within a mall. I got lost the only two times I’ve gone. What a shame because I wish I was here more often. It’s in Rancho Bernardo, so that would be northern SD, kinda. It has a very upscale pub feel to it. A lot of wood grain fixtures and somewhat dim lighting. They also have a separate room in the back for bigger groups that want privacy. The staff are very knowledgeable, really friendly and are very accommodating. I forgot his name but the waiter we got last time I went was the best I’ve had in months, anywhere. He wasn’t that tall, was in his mid maybe later thirties and wore glasses. Kudos to him forreal.The food here is just plain awesome. My first visit I ordered the milk burger. Very juicy and cooked just right. Vegetables came separate on the same plate and with a side of fries. Their fries could’ve been left out of the fryer a few minutes early. They have plenty of sauces at your disposal. My second visit we had Beer Cheese Fries for starters. I suggest it to anyone who goes here and doesn’t know what to get. SO GOOD! Crunchy pieces of pork within fries smothered in some beer infused cheesy sauce. Drooling yet?! I then ordered their Hasenpfeffer Hopper. It’s a burger that consists of rabbit meat. Yeah I know some of you may think that I’m heartless but hey, it was on the menu and I was feeling adventurous. Fancy burger joints offer different types of meat nowadays! Not to my surprise, another flawless burger!Both time I went I ordered some type of dark beer. They have a pretty wide selection of beers on tap, and even more selections for wine. Writing this review has made me want to go back, which I think I’ll do in the next few days, haha.
Love the local food menu. The 2dollar beer tasters are awesome! The atmosphere is good and it’s not bad for families either!
Excellent list of (craft) beers. Food came out super quick and tasty. Some hottie named Shannon took great care of us. Highly recommend.
Top notch craft brew selection on draft and bottle. Great food – modern/chef version of pub. Epic service.
Disappointed! Flat bread was burnt. Second one was burnt. They still charged us despite the fact it was burnt and unevenly cooked. Server was slow and apathetic. It’s a shame because beer selection was good although the server seemed to know little about them.
I have to say after the same old restaurants around town Urge was fantabulous. Great food, wild boar burger, great beer, and Fin was an awesome server!!!! Would definitley include this in my favorite places to eat. Also very reasonably priced.
