  We have come to City Cafe numerous times whenever we are in Yuba City. The last two times, although we had reservations well in advance, we got stepped on by a large party group. Our most recent visit, we received a phone call the night of our reservations asking if we were coming, although we were sitting right out front waiting for them to open. We were 30 minutes early. When we entered were treated as not welcome and as if we were more a burden rathen guests or customers and placed in the bar. The servers were feverishly setting up for a party in the main dinning room. In the bar the noise from the patrons was very loud and not conducive to a quiet dinning experience. Because we were at the entry to the restaurant we saw at laest 6 groups come in and turned away. There remained empty tables in the bar. Because we had reservations we felt the treatment we received was inappropriate so we complainted about it, especially since we were paying over $120 for the meal and drinks. Our server Tenille was very concerned, apologetic and gracious. But could do nothing. Because from our last two experiences However, it was demonstrated that party groups rather then regular patrons are of greater value to this restaurant, we won’t be coming back. Unless we are with a large party.
